Harry A. McWilliams, CPA, PFS has been a part of the financial services industry for over 30 years. After graduating from Providence College with a degree in Accounting, he began his career in 1990 at The Delaware Group of Funds where he performed various accounting and auditing functions pertaining to the mutual funds and separate accounts of The Delaware Group of Funds.

In 1994, Harry joined the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company and Penn Series Funds, Inc where he served as Controller of Penn Series Funds, Inc. As Controller, Harry was responsible for the day to day reporting and accounting functions of a billion-dollar mutual fund company and reported directly to the Board of Directors.

In 2002, Harry became a Financial Advisor and co-founded Granite Financial Solutions, LLC in 2005. Harry has managed over $100 Million in client assets on a daily basis as a Financial Advisor. His advice has been featured in the Philadelphia Business Journal, on the NBC10 Philadelphia Evening News, CBSRadio, KYW Radio, and ABC’s LiveWell Network among others.

Harry also currently serves as a National Media Spokesperson for the AICPA’s Personal Financial Specialist credential, which is granted exclusively to CPAs with considerable Personal Financial Planning experience to distinguish CPAs who specialize in personal financial planning.

Harry is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), and served a ten year term as a committee member for the CPA Image Enhancement Committee as well as the Personal Financial Planning Committee. Harry has published educational information on various financial planning topics available from the PICPA. During 2008, Harry was one of only 40 CPAs named a PICPA 2008 “Member to Watch”.

In addition, Harry has instructed various courses on financial and investment topics for the purpose of providing continuing professional education for accountants. Harry is actively involved in the Providence College mentoring program to assist college students in planning their future and choosing a career path. Harry is also actively involved in his church and was installed as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at St. Helena’s Church in Blue Bell, PA where he is a member of the congregation.

Harry’s personal interests include spending time with his son Reynold and his wife Karen.

International Studies, he began his career in 1992 at The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company where he was responsible for the daily reporting and accounting functions of a multi-billion dollar fund complex.

In 1998, Ken became the Variable Product Fund Manager for the Penn Series Funds, Inc. In this capacity, Ken was responsible for the selection, monitoring and due diligence of the mutual funds offered through the investment complex. He also provided consultative services to the company’s financial advisers helping to educate them on various investment topics as well as to better serve the needs of their clients. In addition, Ken was a member of the firm’s Investment Committee reporting directly to the Board of Directors. During Ken’s tenure, assets more than tripled in size to over $3 billion.

Ken has been awarded the AIF® designation as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary in association with the University of Pittsburgh. The Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation represents a thorough knowledge of and ability to apply fiduciary Practices. AIF designees have a reputation in the industry for the ability to implement a prudent process into their own investment practices as well as being able to assist others in implementing proper policies and procedures. AIF designees are required to:

– Put clients’ best interests first
– Disclose conflicts and other facts important to investors
– Avoid (or to manage to benefit the client) all important conflicts
– Disclose fees and control expenses
– Follow and document a due diligence process in making decisions
– Diversify investments
